HARDWOOD SAWTIMBER – 0 TONS HARDWOOD PULPWOOD – 42 TONS CHIPS (CHIPWOOD) – 0 TONS (MUST SUBMIT A PER UNIT BID TO BE ABLE TO CHIP) Contract Period of Performance: *Purchaser (s) will be issued a time restricted contract from date of sale with special terms as follow. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has listed the Northern Long- Eared Bat Myotis septentrionalis as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. All tree felling operations are restricted by federal law and must be completed by 31 May 2020. There will be no exception or extensions to this contract to allow for additional tree felling time. Item # one (1) Block A, Block B, and Block E all clearcut harvests – All tree felling shall be complete by 31 May 2020; tree skidding, processing, and hauling as well as all site repair work, if any as directed must be complete 31 July 2020. Item # two (2) Block D operator select thinning – All tree felling shall be complete by 31 May 2020; tree skidding, processing, and hauling as well as all site repair work, if any as directed must be complete 31 July 2020. INSPECTION INVITED ON TUESDAY 7 January 2020 BEGINNING AT 9:00 a.m. ALL AVAILABLE ITEMS WILL BE SHOWN ON THE ABOVE DAY. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. Friday January 17, 2020 by the Acquisition, Management, and disposal section, real estate office, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, VA, and then opened publicly. All sale areas are outside of streamside management zones. All timber for harvest is designated standing timber contained within the defined sale area boundaries. Harvest operations and associated work shall comply with the State of Virginia Forestry Best Management Practices for Water Quality. No trees will be harvested within the SMZs. Standing timber herein is located within training areas are of low military use areas, all indications are that metal contamination will be negligible, if any.
