The munitions clearance services are necessary to clear 37.7 acres of a Multi-Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) Range of potential unexploded ordnance (UXO) so that a currently paused construction project on the MPMG Range can continue at Ft. Devens, Massachusetts. The munitions clearance efforts will require mobilizing specialized UXO technicians and equipment to allow the MPMG range construction to proceed and ensure the Installation Management Command (IMCOM) can have an operational range to support Soldier readiness training on high-caliber weapons by late calendar year 2029.
