In FY23 NAMRU-6 Bacteriology located in Lima,Peru was awarded with GEIS HAI-Wounds funds to establish or strengthen surveillance for bacterial infections in multiple settings, including but not limited to: hospitals, infected wounds (both surgical site infection and traumatic wound infections), diarrheal infections, and infections occurring in remote areas, etc. in both civilian and military populations in Latin American countries. OBJECTIVES Participating sites send bacterial isolates causing infections or samples taken due to infections, including nosocomial (focusing on ESKAPE pathogens), diarrheal, and wound infections or from urethral discharge syndrome (focusing on Neisseria gonorrhoeae) to NAMRU-6 for further identification and characterization of their antibiotic resistance patterns. No identifiable patient information is shared with NAMRU-6; only hospital-performed strain characterization (if done) and basic demographic data associated with each strain/sample, to include: type of wound or infection, type of sample, location/ward (medicine, pediatric, gynecology, etc.) in the hospital, date of collection, etc. is shared with NAMRU-6. Information shared with NAMRU6 by a site laboratory or the office/department of epidemiology (surveillance), e.g. location/ward in the hospital, and NAMRU6 determined antibiotic resistance pattern, etc., used to assist in the infection control intervention at each site and is not for management of a patient’s treatment. Service is required for Bruker MALDI-TOF instrument in NAMRU-6, LIMA,PERU. The performance of this instrument cannot stop as it is necessary for pathogen identification. Complete Maintenance in LIMA,PERU Agreement includes: -Onsite response of Three (3) Business Days: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm. - 1 (One) Planned Maintenance (PM) visits per year with complete inspection of listed instrumentation -Unlimited onsite emergency service visits -Parts, labor, travel. Exclusions noted in the Terms and Conditions. -Software Upgrades. Bruker proprietary software only, excludes 3rd party software; excludes hardware necessary to upgrade system compatibility - 1 (One) cleaning visit or 1 (One) additional PM will be inclusive after a technical expert recommends a cleaning or PM on the contracted system Additionally provide a Hotline number for applications /technical service during normal business hours; Technical support hotline outside normal business hours of 5PM-12AM EST weekdays, 9AM -9PM EST on weekends and holidays. Any other than the included PM /cleanings visits will be sold separately. Parts exclusions are noted in the Terms and Conditions. FIRST LINE OF SUPPORT IS VIA A REMOTE ACCESS: If remote access is not available , response time and/or repair will be delayed to a minimum of 2 business days. Response time begins once a certified Bruker engineer diagnoses the system and recommends a visit. Service response excludes weekends, company and local public holidays. For IVD/ CA system, software and library are registered/ approved and cleared for use with registered/ approved Bruker CARE products. The use of non-Bruker reagents and consumables is therefore not permitted and is consequently leading to immediate invalidity of this contract. In this case contract fees will not be reimbursed.
