Marine Corps Base Hawaii has need to enter into an agreement with a tow truck operator that is capable of having base access to remove and store impounded and abandoned vehicles. Vehicles to be removed are classified as abandoned or derelict, in used, poor, and or residual condition. Vehicles consist of sedans, sport utility vehicles, pickup trucks, motorcycles, mopeds, and other common types of privately owned vehicles. The MCBH PMO Impound Custodian is responsible for identifying the vehicles to be removed from the Impound Lot, maintaining records of each vehicle, and attempting to contact the registered owner/lien holder of each vehicle, prior to releasing vehicles to the towing company. There will be no charge to the Government for removing the vehicles from MCBH to an off-base location by the towing company. These vehicles will be released to the towing company if unclaimed after 45 days. The towing company selected shall maintain insurance in the following amounts and provide MCBH with a copy of insurance policy declaration page: a. Bodily injury of no less than $500,000 b. Property damage of not less than $200,000 c. On-hook coverage of not less than $175,000; or d. A combined single limit of liability of not less than $1,000,000 Some vehicles will require flat bed towing to be removed.
