Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams have a requirement to understand how explosives are affected by the interaction of hand tools and power tools. This follow-on effort will determine if mitigation procedures identified and developed under the prior Task Order (No. HDTRA1-18-F-0001) can be employed and prevent a dynamic reaction. The effort will model and verify predictions for a detonation threshold and identify and verify the margin of safety required to prevent dynamic reactions while cutting and drilling into explosives.
