The contractor shall advance state-of-the-art new and improved technologies for hardening electronic systems against EM threats across the frequency spectrum from the various forms of Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), disturbed environments and emissions of High Power Microwave (HPM) sources. Achieving this advancement within the scope of this effort will require analysis, testing, new technologies and standards efforts. New solutions to EM hardening issues and in determining actual system response are sought in this effort rather than slight improvements to existing techniques. Implicit to these objectives is demonstrating and transferring to the Combatant Commanders, Services, and Program Offices.
