The USAF is conducting market research to identify sources capable of qualifying and producing Bomb Bay Door Trailers, with large and small businesses and joint ventures/teaming arrangements encouraged to respond. The effort covers six long trailers (PN X201846369-10) and three short trailers (PN X201846369-30), each fabricated and delivered fully assembled per the controlled drawings and applicable notes, materials, components, and dimensions. All trailers must meet AWS D1.1/D1.2 welding standards and include specified protective cradles/guards, casters, tow-bar assemblies, hardware, finish, identification markings, and safety stenciling, with inspection for completeness and drawing compliance before delivery. Technical drawings are CUI/export-controlled and limited to U.S. and Canadian contractors certified under JCP; interested vendors must request access from Paul Mullins by email with an active DD Form 2345 certificate and CAGE code, after which approved drawings are sent via DoD SAFE. Participation is for market research only and does not guarantee future solicitation participation or award, and the government will not reimburse survey expenses.
