Army Blood Link (ABL) – Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS)
The Army Blood Link (ABL) OTA prototype project seeks to develop and deliver two unmanned aircraft systems capable of transporting 20 Government-designated blood units per mission, with a minimum 1.25 ft³ payload volume and 25–50 lb payload capacity, including a validated thermal-control transport container. The UAS must support contested and denied environments, day/night operations, a 30 km one-way radius, 100 km maximum mission distance, 3–6 hours operating time, and delivery accuracy within 10 meters. The anticipated prototype period of performance is up to 3 months from award, and fully functional prototype delivery, testing, refinement, and documentation must be scheduled no later than 3 months after award. Primary delivery and demonstration will be within CONUS, initially at Fort Liberty, North Carolina, or another designated XVIII Airborne Corps/medical unit location. The effort is expected to be a Firm-Fixed-Price OTA prototype agreement with a single best-value award, evaluated on price and technical factors, and may result in a follow-on production agreement if the prototype succeeds and demand continues.
