This action is to provide for the use of SimplexGrinnell (a subsidiary of Johnson Controls) parts and services that align with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) to assist the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) in providing, repairing, and maintaining fire alarm (FA) and mass notification (MNS) systems. DSCC has 35 buildings with FA and MNS systems. The DSCC installation-wide FA/MNS system network consists of parts, equipment, system hardware, and system software that is manufactured by, the brand name of, and intellectual property of SimplexGrinnell. The DSCC FA/MNS system network requires specialized parts, equipment, qualified service, and manufacturer programming. For additional context, the broader DSCC installation-wide FA/MNS/MWNS/suppression system network contains 140 fire alarm panels, 692 pull stations, 302 duct detectors, 478 heat detectors, 1758 smoke detectors, 586 monitoring points, 4173 notification devices, 2 mass warning wide area speakers, 2 TrueSite workstations, 180 fire fighter phones, 338 emergency lights, 184 fire suppression alarm valves, and 208 risers and backflow preventers. This broader system network covers life safety, fire protection, and emergency notification for more than 35 buildings. The DSCC installation-wide FA/MNS/MWNS/suppression system network is centralized in the Emergency Services Communication Center (ESCC) for 24/7 monitoring. The ESCC is equipped with a SimplexGrinnell fire alarm control panels and SimplexGrinnell TrueSite Workstation for monitoring the entire fire alarm network at DSCC.
