The Naval Research Lab (NRL) is posting a Request for Information (RFI) and seeking potential sources for planning purposes only. This notice is not a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quote (RFQ). No awards will be made from the responses to this announcement. The Government will not reimburse any costs associated with the development and submission of materials in response to this request. There is no solicitation available at this time. However, should a requirement materialize, no basis for claims against NRL shall arise as a result of a response to this notice or NRL’s use of such information as either part of our evaluation process or in developing specifications for any subsequent requirement. Inquiries for additional information other than that provided herein will receive no response. Objective: The Naval Research Laboratory’s (NRL) Space Science Division is inquiring for potential sources that are capable of providing the below listed supplies, with the provided technical specifications. The following are the required characteristics of a 20FT CSC Plated ISO Containerized Geotechnical Laboratory that are required to meet our core logging requirements: Horizontal Multi Sensor Core Logger for whole core logging, outfitted with the following sensors: Track system for moving cores up to 1.5m in length through sensors Electronics, Computer, and Software for operation and acquisition of data from sensors. Laser core thickness measurement P-wave measurement system using both rolling transducer and piston measurement. Cs-137 gamma source and receiver for density measurement. Bartington magnetic susceptibility system with both loop (3) and point sensors (1) Non-contact electrical resistivity system Natural gamma sensor system with 3 natural gamma sensors API and K,U,Th calibration standards. Vertical Multi Sensor Core Logger for whole core logging, outfitted with the following sensors: Track system for holding core and moving sensors for up to 1m cores. Electronics, Computer, and Software for operation and acquisition of data from sensors. Laser core thickness measurement P-wave measurement system using both rolling transducer and piston measurement. Fully integrated air conditioned system for cooling and heating Power conditioning on all electrical circuits Uninterruptible power supply customized for estimated load. Window with protective grill and 1 personnel door. Benches for equipment and preparation of cores Power and lighting for equipment and operations Storage racks for handling cores (both vertical and horizontal core storage). Anti-vibration mounting for horizontal Multi Sensor Core Logger system. Lab Sink for cleanup. 10-day training by company representative for up to 3 personnel at the delivery site. Detailed design drawings package before assembly of mobile laboratory.
