9. DESCRIPTION: Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Northwest will be soliciting for Museum Curation services in support of collections recovered from Navy-managed lands. The federal regulation 36 CFR 79, Curation of Federally-Owned and Administered Archeological Collections, requires that federal collections are stored in a repository having the requisite equipment, personnel, space, and environmental safeguards to insure the physical security of the collections. The repository must maintain complete and accurate records of the collections, provide an annual inspection report to the Navy, and review, approve, or deny requests for access to the collections for scientific, educational or religious uses. Other accredited museums exist in the region, but the Burke Museum is the only curatorial repository that will curate or hold-in-trust archaeological materials recovered from federal lands. This acquisition will be negotiated on a sole source basis with The Burke Museum in accordance with FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals prior to offer due date, which will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. A Firm-Fixed Price, Service type contract will be awarded in accordance with FAR parts 12 and 13, Commercial and Simplified Acquisition Procedures. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by NAVFAC Northwest. POC for this acquisition is Cari Burnham, cari.m.burnham.civ@us.navy.mil
