Tank 558 is a 300,000 gallon welded steel ground storage tank located at the Naval Weapons Station Earle in Colts Neck, New Jersey. According to information on the tank information stencil, the tank has a capacity of 300,000 gallons. Measurements taken during the field evaluation indicate the tank is approximately 50 ft (15.2 m) in diameter and has a shell height of approximately 22 ft (6.7 m). (See Figure 3.1-1).
