The work is maintenance dredging, hydraulic placement of dredged material, and debris removal at the Craney Island Rehandling Basin, located on the southeast side of the Craney Island Dredged Material Management Area adjacent to the Norfolk Harbor Channel in Portsmouth, Virginia. Dredging includes the North and South Access Channels to -18 feet MLLW, the Debris Channel to -9 feet MLLW, and the Rehandling Basin to -20 feet MLLW, with optional increased depth to -23 feet MLLW in the Rehandling Basin. The base work estimate is approximately 260,000 cubic yards of dredged material, including allowable overdepth and anticipated accretion, with debris such as wire, rope, steel, and wood to be managed and removed, and all dredged material will be hydraulically transported by pipeline to a Government-furnished upland placement site within CIDMMA. The contractor must commence within 15 calendar days after Notice to Proceed and complete all work within 180 calendar days, with no known dredging time-of-year restrictions.
