This is a Request for Information (RFI) only and does not constitute a commitment implied or otherwise, that the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) will take procurement action in this matter. Further, NAVAIR nor the Government will be responsible for any cost incurred in furnishing information. This RFI is being used to gather market research for NAVAIR to make decisions regarding the integration of Weather RADAR solutions into Navy/Marine Corps aircraft. NAVAIR will use the results of this RFI to determine current capabilities of Weather RADARs including interface options, size options, weight, power requirements as well as reliability and environmental qualifications. Additionally, this information will be used to develop preliminary cost estimates and an acquisition strategy. Background: Numerous Navy and Marine Corps aircraft are experiencing numerous cockpit and avionics obsolescence issues. PMA209, Air Combat Electronics, is developing a Weather RADAR solution set to meet the requirements leveraging Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) hardware solutions to save time and money while providing robust capabilities. Requirement: The Government requires Weather RADAR to install in Navy and Marine Corps aircraft.
