DESCRIPTION: The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Program Executive Office for Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons (PEO (U&W)) PMA-242, at Patuxent River, MD announces a requirement to procure Automated Shot Counter System inclusive of: Automated Shot Counters, Handheld Devices, Software/Firmware Delivery & Updates or for GAU-21 .50 Caliber Machine Gun, M240D 7.62MM Machine Gun, GAU-17 & GAU-24 Mini-Gun, M61 20MM Machine Gun and M197 22MM Automatic Gun. BACKGROUND: There is currently no Shot Counter, or automated rounds fired recording system, employed on Airborne Automatic Weapon Systems. Rounds Counts are tracked off best estimations from the crew employing the weapon. The Navy desires to employ Automated Shot Counters on the GAU-21 .50 Caliber Machine Gun, M240D 7.62MM Machine Gun, GAU-17 & GAU-24 Mini-Gun, M61 20MM Machine Gun and M197 22MM Automatic Gun to accurately reflect rounds fired leading to decreased maintenance requirements and increased lifespan of the weapon systems. The Navy is completing a trade study analysis for the integration of an Automated Shot Counter system to assess a suitable Automated Shot Counter to meet capability, design, and operational requirements. ANTICIPATED PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: This contract action will be a base and one option year contract to procure Automated Shot Counter System inclusive of: Automated Shot Counters, Handheld Devices, Software/Firmware Delivery & Updates. The anticipated award date is September 2024. The required delivery date for an initial Automated Shot Counters is no later than one (1) year after contract award. CONTRACT TYPE: The contract type for this requirement is anticipated to be Firm Fixed Price.
