The bridge contract will be a modification to extend the current task order for a six month base period and six (6) 1-month option periods.After award of Task Order N6247321F5431, NAVFAC Southwest determined a Base Operations Service Contract (BOSC) should be implemented for Naval Base San Diego, with the services of the current task order falling under the new BOSC. While sufficient time exists for a follow-on contract to be awarded, the new contract duration would only be for a term of six months, as the BOSC is scheduled to be awarded with a period of performance start date of April 1, 2025. Due to the complexities and highly specialized nature of this service contract, a six month long new contract would not be successful to meet the requirements of the Scope of Work. This contract requires the use of Maximo, which requires several months in which to gain access. Also, the contract requires substantial work related to HVAC, boiler, plumbing, generator, and fire systems, which require extensive time to learn and understand how to maintain and repair.
