The requirement is to provide a complete Design Build project to install a heat driven loop natural gas heater at the Hanscom AFB (HAFB) Gas Take Station. The new heater shall be designed and installed in compliance with applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) located at https://www.wbdg.org/ffc/dod/unified-facilities-criteria-ufc, American Gas Association Guidelines, and the Northeast Gas Association Guidelines, Manufacturers’ recommended installation instructions, Air Force (AF) Codes, Regulations, Standards, Procedures, and all applicable Local, State, and Federal Codes & Regulations. The successful contractor will be required to acquire a new heat driven loop natural gas heater. The proposed heater shall be capable of an output of up to 383,200 BTU / Hour. Contractor shall verify heater output requirements during the design phase. The new natural gas heater should become the primary heat source and the existing heater the alternate heat source. The Contractor must be capable of providing the necessary controls and updates to the sequence of operations required to meet the intent of this project. The proposed heater should not require an enclosure and shall not produce noise levels above 60 decibels outside of the fenced gas take station equipment yard. Heater shall be 50% efficient with up to 70% thermal efficiency and shall be connected to emergency power. The following control points shall be included: gas pressure at inlet to boiler and steam temperature at outlet of boiler / inlet of heat exchanger.
