The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a firm fixed-price type contract to The Boeing Company (TBC) for the procurement of requirements in accordance with Engineering Change Proposal 6531 Rudder Hinge Pin Design Improvement The procurement will be procured under NAICS 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing), and is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The Government does not currently possess the necessary supplies and/or services to support the design, development, creation of logistics data, publications revision, accessory change, technical directive, etc. in regards to the Rudder Hinge Pin Design Improvement using a source other than TBC. Therefore, NAVAIR has determined that award of ECP 6531 to any source other than TBC would result in unacceptable delays to fielding this requirement. This synopsis is for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive proposals. Responsible sources may submit a capability statement with sufficient detail that clearly demonstrates the capability to produce the required products no later than 3:00 PM (EST) August 14, 2019 to bret.middleton@navy.mil
