The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River, MD intends to solicit a proposal from General Electric (CAGE 99207) of 1000 Western Ave., Lynn, Massachusetts 01905-2655 to procure spare engine repair parts needed to support Kuwait F414-GE-400 engines during Flight Operations. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1“Only One Responsible Source and No Other Type of Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements.” General Electric is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the F414-GE-400 aircraft engine and is the only source with the knowledge, expertise, facilities, and qualified personnel to accomplish this task. Subcontracting inquiries shall be directed directly to General Electric. This synopsis is for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive proposals.
