The Government has a requirement to provide complete logistics support services at the FPLA Logistics Readiness Center (LRC). The LRC includes the Maintenance Division, the Supply and the Services Division, and the Transportation Division. The Maintenance Division provides field and sustainment level maintenance support to tactical units and Government civilian activities. The Supply and Services Division provides supplies and services support to include Central Issue Facility, Hazardous Material, and Ammunition Supply Point operations (Class V), Retail supply operations through the Installation’s classes of supply II, III, IV, VII, IX supply support activity, and consolidated Installation Property Book Office operations. The Transportation Division provides installation transportation support services to the installation training units, tactical units, and other DoD activities to include Material Movement (Freight), Unit Movements, Personal Property, Rail movement operations and Motor pool operations. Fort Polk is also the home for the Joint Readiness Training Center, which trains light infantry and mechanized forces in a joint warfare environment. The Installation also serves as the mobilization/deployment base for Active Component units of U.S. Army Forces Command and Reserve Component units. Approximately 36,000 active and reserve component soldiers are trained annually at Fort Polk.
