The Defense Health Agency has a requirement for the Medical Health System (MHS) to collaborate with other leading healthcare systems and health plans on national clinical quality priorities, performance improvement goals, and national standards for measuring and publically reporting on performance. Based on our market research, NQF is the only nationally recognized consensus-based healthcare organization in the nation as defined by the Office of Management and Budget. This status allows the federal government to rely on NQF-defined measures or healthcare practices as the best, evidence-based approaches to improving care. The federal government, states, and private-sector organizations use NQF’s endorsed measures, which must meet rigorous criteria, to evaluate performance and share information with patients and their families. The National Quality Forum (NQF) membership facilitates the Defense Health Agency’s (DHA) ability to collaborate with private and other sector stakeholders to develop and implement cross-cutting solutions to drive continuous clinical quality improvement in healthcare. Additionally, the NQF membership provides the MHS the ability to provide feedback on national standards under development. This is a proposed contract action greater than $25,000 but not greater than the simplified acquisition threshold; a written solicitation will be utilized.
