The U.S. Department of the Air Force requires the destruction of 8,000 lbs of SAP IT hardware at an approved IT sanitation facility. The sanitization must be performed in accordance with a specific DAF SAP IT Standard Operating Procedure. Acceptable methods include incineration at 670°C (with specific lower temperatures for SSDs and optical media), smelting at 1204°C, or disintegration to 2mm particles.
