Ordering Qty: 54 Max Ordering Qty: 308 End Item: MD- Carrier 1/2 Squad Response Date: 11/16/2022 Requirements Description: NSN: 6110-01-698-8022, CONSOLE, POWER DISTRIBUTION: This NSN is a critical component of the Commanders’ Weapon Station for the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV). More specifically, the weapon system used is the Integrated Turret Drive system (ITDS) that is manufactured by Control Solutions. The weapon station allows the commander of the vehicle to operate the mounted machine gun or automatic grenade launcher while having the hatch closed so they do not have to expose themselves to operate the weapon system. The control box is the main electrical connection to the commander’s joystick, the electronic motor that moves the weapon station, the attached searchlight, and the cupola’s battery. The design of the commanders control box is unique in that it is packaged and assembled in a way that can fit in the commander’s cupola and be connected to the other electrical applications. Development of a control box would require another vendor to meet the tight space claims and connection points with existing components that would be specific to the design made by control solutions. Control Solutions is the only identified source that has demonstrated the requisite technical and engineering expertise to perform all efforts required to provide the commanders control box. Also Control solutions has demonstrated the unique and proven manufacturing capabilities to repeatedly manufacture quality parts related to the weapon system.
