BetaSam Posting: Sources Sought Notice 2020-0236 Item Name: NOZZLE ASSEMBLY, LUBRICATING,DIESEL ENGINE NSN: 2815014344203 Part Number: 388010007 Cage : 0L7R7 Part Number: E8DR106-0190 Cage : 02978 Quantity: 708 each End Item: M88 AVDS-1790 RESPONSE DATE: 10 07 2020 Day Month Year REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION: The NOZZLE ASSEMBLY, LUBRICATING, DIESEL ENGINE are a critical component of the highly specialized AVDS-1790 engine that is used on the M88A1& M88A2 towing and recovery system. The design of the NOZZLE ASSEMBLY, LUBRICATING, DIESEL ENGINE is unique in that it its geometry is specifically designed for the cylinder bank spacing of the AVDS-1790 so that the oil may be effectively delivered each of the 12 piston assemblies. The piston oilers provide additional cooling and wrist-pin lubrication to the underside of the AVDS-1790 piston assemblies which enhances the durability of the AVDS-1790 engine at high-rpms. A similar component would need to be designed with geometry tailored to the unique cylinder spacing without interfering with existing components to ensure the reliability of the M88’s AVDS-1790 12-cylinder diesel engine at high rpms during a full-load operation. The Government does not possess the technical data package (TDP), detailed drawings and performance specifications for these items. This is not a developmental effort. Current designs have been approved by the Product Manager. Alternate designs must be approved by the Product Manager.
