1.0 Description 1.1 The Naval Medical Research Unit is seeking information on a vendor that can provide two Portable Hand Held Pocket Sized Ultrasound Units on a FIRM-FIXED rate for one year. 1.2 Request For Information (RFI) Only. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes – it does not constitute as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, the Government is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. The RFI respondents are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website: https://www.fbo.gov and the GSA E-Commerce Central website: http://www.gsa.gov. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. 2.0 Summary The information provided in this RFI is subject to change and is not binding to the Government. The Government has not made a commitment to procure any of the RFI requirements discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. The ultrasound must be truly portable and handheld/pocket sized and have both linear and phased transducer capabilities and functions as one complete all-in-one unit (i.e. transducer and ultrasound display/functionality are incorporated). Approximate dimensions need to be under 6” x 3” x 2. Broad-bandwidth linear array need to be from 3.4 to 8.0 MHz and phased array need to be from 1.7 to 3.8 MHz. Imaging must be in both black and white and color that display anatomy in real time. It must be able to hold a battery charge for at least 60 minutes. Software must be included that is capable of storing data such as .jpg and .mpg viewing and utilizes OS Windows 7.
