Naval Air Systems Command intends to solicit and negotiate a Fixed Price type contract with PCX Aerosystems (Cage 4N727) of Santa Ana, California. This effort is for the procurement of approximately sixty(60) FPU-12/A 480 Gallon External Fuel Tanks for F/A-18 E/F aircraft. This procurement will be pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2301 (c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.” PCX Aerospace Systems is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the FPU-12/A 480 External Fuel Tanks and is the only source with the knowledge and experience required to provide the necessary design to ensure complete integration of the FPU-12/A 480 Gallon External Fuel Tanks with existing F/A-18 software, electronic systems, and hardware architecture.
