PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE This is NOT a request for proposal or invitation for bid. Naval Facilities Command Engineering (NAVFAC), Public Works Department (PWD) Newport, located at Newport, Rhode Island, announces a requirement for a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) construction contract for Solicitation, NUWC Building 1176 Ahir Handler Unit Replacement. This project shall be bid to include all labor, tools, qualified supervision, equipment, materials, supplies, equipment, and permits necessary to complete the General Requirements and Statement of Work. Project Information: Solicitation Number: TBD Title: NUWC Building 1176 Air Handler Unit Replacement Location: Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Newport, RI, 02841 The Government will issue the solicitation as an Invitation for Bid (IFB) as a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside. Contract award will be based on Far Part 14 – Sealed Bidding. Award shall be made on the total of the Base Bid to the responsive and responsible bidder with the lowest price acceptable to the Government. The IFB will be issued on or about 30 June 2021. The offeror is responsible to monitor and download any amendments for the solicitation from the Contract Opportunities (https://beta.sam.gov) website. Description of Work: The project shall include the replacement of an air handling unit and air cooled condenser serving the north end of building 1176. The replacement will include a central station air handling unit with direct expansion cooling coil and a hot water heating coil. The unit will be equipped to provide the required amount of heating, cooling and ventilation air for the occupants. The electrical system serving the new mechanical equipment will be upgraded to serve the equipment as well. Only one site visit will be scheduled and interested offerors are highly encouraged to attend. Bid guarantee required.
