Sources Sought for a Liquid CO2 Washer for Oil Soaked Textiles The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) is conducting a sources sought to identify potential vendors/manufacturers of Liquid CO2 Washers capable of cleaning oil soaked textiles. Purpose of this Sources Sought: The purpose of this source sought is to identify potential sources (vendors and manufacturers), including company's business size classification. Responses to this source sought will be used by NSWCCD to influence acquisition decisions which may include: use of sole source or competitive bid procurement process; small business set-aside (small business, large business, or small disadvantaged business) and which acquisition procedures are best suited for this procurement. Liquid CO2 Washing Requirement Background: NSWCCD's Solid Waste and Hazardous Material Management Branch (Code 634) Pollution Prevention team is in search of liquid CO2 washing technology that can be implemented shipboard to process oil contaminated rags. The proposed machine is required to fit though a standard ship doorway (66 inches by 26 inches). The size restriction can be met by a modular design or by simple assembly of the machine in the intended space. The ideal machine would not require the use of any additional detergents. Responses: Responses to this notice shall be submitted electronically to Ms. Patricia Vara at patricia.vara@navy.mil and must be received no later than 0900 EST April 11, 2019. The page limit is 25 pages, however, laboratory reports and certification documents do not count towards the 25-page limitation. Responses shall include: 1. Company name, website, and physical address, 2. Point of contact, phone number, and E-mail address, 3. Cage number (if applicable) and DUNS number. 4. Company size e.g. small business, large business, or small disadvantaged business 5. Company capability statement to provide a liquid CO2 washing machine capable of processing oil contaminated textiles. This statement should include at a minimum the following: a. Experience providing CO2 washing technology to the Maritime industry, provide examples (if applicable). b. Unit size (dimensions), weight, detergents (optional or required), and power requirements. c. Documentation of processing rates d. If the machine as assembled cannot meet the size requirements (66 inches by 26 inches), provide a statement about the ability of the equipment to be assembled in a shipboard space. e. CO2 usage, and recycling rates. f. Documentation of how the machine handles waste products. g. Model number (if applicable), system cost, and other information the vendor or manufacturer deems relevant. Disclaimer: A solicitation is not currently available.
