The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Office of International Policy and Affairs (OPIA) is conducting market research on securing a venue space for the upcoming 40th Annual Trilateral Heads of Office meetings in Raleigh, North Carolina for November 7-10, 2022. The Trilateral Patent Offices, or simply the Trilateral Offices, are the European Patent Office (EPO), the Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The Trilateral Offices process the greater part of all patent applications filed worldwide, including Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications. Beginning in Washington, DC in 1983, the Trilateral Offices have been meeting annually. Hosting duties alternate between the three offices. In November 2022, USPTO will be hosting the 40th annual Trilateral meeting. It was decided that USPTO will host the meeting in the Research Triangle area of Raleigh, N.C.
