Scientific Research on FVCOM Modeling of Lake Erie
NOAA intends to award a sole-source contract to Plymouth Marine Laboratory for Phase 4 scientific research and modeling on Lake Erie, specifically optimizing the FVCOM-ERSEM biophysical model to simulate harmful algal blooms and hypoxia. The contract has a 12-month base period of performance with a budget of up to $9M. The specialized expertise required to couple these models for Great Lakes conditions is uniquely held by Plymouth Marine Laboratory.
