The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to award a firm fixed price contract for Gill MaxiMet All-In-One Sensors (P/N GMX500) for the National Data Buoy Center at Stennis Space Center, MS. The Government intends to make an award to the responsive responsible quoter providing the best value in accordance with FAR 13.106-2(B)(3). This is a brand name requirement. Brand Name Justification This procurement is for the brand name Gill Instruments MaxiMet all-in-one weather sensors. Previous sensors have been laboratory tested in the past and Gill MaxiMet Sensors are the only sensors that have passed all testing for water intrusion, wind data outages, and data collection accuracy. This procurement is to purchase units to test in the field to determine the survivability and any data issues that may be found during full-time use in the harsh marine environment. These units will replace previously procured Gill All-In-One Sensors that were damaged beyond repair or lost in deployment. DOC, Eastern Region Acquisition Division requires that all contractors doing business with this office be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM). No award can be made to a company not registered in SAM. Contractors active in SAM have a unique entity identifier (UEI) that is used to do business with the federal government. The Government has moved to a free new, non-proprietary identifier that will have to be requested in, and assigned by, the System for Award Management (SAM.gov).
