The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is conducting market research to identify potential commercial sources of operational satellite-based microwave atmospheric sensor data. Commercial microwave observations may be investigated in an upcoming Commercial Weather Data Pilot (CWDP) study to assess their compatibility with and efficacy for use in NOAA’s numerical weather prediction (NWP) models and other nowcasting applications. This is a sources sought notice issued for market research purposes in accordance with FAR Part 10. This is not a solicitation, nor does it guarantee a solicitation will be issued. It is not a commitment by the Government to award a contract nor will the Government pay for any information provided. The purpose of this notice is to obtain market information for planning purposes and to inform the Government’s acquisition strategy in terms of determining if small business and/or socioeconomic sources are capable of satisfying the Agency’s requirement.
