The responsed date has been extended to 9/14/2020 by 4PM Mountain--- ***PLEASE SEE ATTACHED SF18, COMBINED SYNOPSIS AND STATEMENT OF NEED FOR COMPLETE SPECS AND TERMS/CONDITIONS*** SCOPE OR MISSION: The Hawaiian monk seal research program is in need of new cages for the transportation of live seals of all ages up to 550 pounds in weight. These cages will be used for transport by air via chartered or commercial flight, by sea on NOAA research vessels or small boats, and by land in a truck or van. They must be able to be lifted by hand, forklift and crane. BACKGROUND: Seals are regularly transported from a natural environment when sick or injured to a rehabilitation facility, between facilities for medical procedures, from a rehabilitation facility back into the wild, or from one wild habitat to another that may be safer or more suitable. Secure and safe cages are essential for the transport of Hawaiian monk seals.
