Amendment 0001 is to provide the following questions and government provided responses. Q1. Table size? A1. Minimum 26x8 inches. Q2. X,Y,Z,B travel requirements? A2. Minimum travel: X = 14"; Y=7.5"; Z= 13", B will be a rotational axis. Q3. In our experience, Single phase electricity will not result in 5000 rpms. Is this requirement correct? A3. Yes Q4. Is there a maximum allowable height (how tall is the door it is coming in through?)? A4. The assembled machine will not be over 90" tall. Q5. Which spindle taper is required? A5. R8 Q6. What is the max. table load necessary? A6. 200 lbs Q7. Is a knee mill or a bed mill preferable? A7. Bed mill Q8. To confirm, the request is for CNC, which inherently includes "an automated way to locate the cutting tools tips." Is this what you meant to say? A8. The mill system shall include an electronic instrument to locate the z-height of the cutting tool tips and transmit that information in the mill control computer. Q9. How many tools slots are needed in the ATC? A9. No automatic tool changer ( ATC ) is required. However, the mill shall be able to accept an ATC as a retro-fit. Q10. Minimum tailstock quill travel? A10. Not applicable as this is a vertical mill, not a lathe. Q11. Why is there a 1,500 pound weight limit? A11. The 1,500 pound weight limit is hereby deleted. However, no shipped subcomponent of the mill system will weigh more than 1,000 pounds. This requirement is imposed for the convenience of the end user for moving and assembling the mill sub-components.
