The mill system shall include an electronic instrument to locate the z-height of the cutting tool tips and transmit that information in the mill control computer. Q9. How many tools slots are needed in the ATC? A9. No automatic tool changer ( ATC ) is required. However, the mill shall be able to accept an ATC as a retro-fit. Q10. Minimum tailstock quill travel? A10. Not applicable as this is a vertical mill, not a lathe. Q11. Why is there a 1,500 pound weight limit? A11. The 1,500 pound weight limit is hereby deleted. However, no shipped subcomponent of the mill system will weigh more than 1,000 pounds. This requirement is imposed for the convenience of the end user for moving and assembling the mill sub-components.
