This is a software license renewal to collect and validate geospatial data in the field, with real-time collaborative linkage between workers in the field and in-office subject matter experts. GeoCollaborate will be used to provide an environment to carry out the following activities that are core to our agency’s modernization: Implement as an innovative approach to collecting geospatial data for both quality assurance of data in the Census Bureau’s Master Address File/Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) database as well as collecting data with which update MAF/TIGER, with connections to in-office geographic subject matter experts; Develop high quality methods and tools to assist in evolving a more professionalized in-field data collection workforce; Leverage Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funded technology to introduce innovation into the Census Bureau’s in short and long-term planning; Address priorities with Puerto Rico effort to improve data accuracy and completeness; Assess the way in which GeoCollaborate might be used in conjunction with the Census Bureau’s Listing and Mapping Application (LiMA) and other field data collection instruments; Test the potential use of GeoCollaborate when working with individuals, communities, and local officials who are suggesting updates to geographic entities, but do not have access to geographic information system (GIS) software and technology. Additional efforts to apply GeoCollaborate® as identified over the course of the project. Quantity of 1 License to provide access to GeoCollaborate technology to enable the Census Bureau’s activities as specified. StormCenter Communications also will provide technical support and any necessary additional training through the duration of the assessment project, as needed and as identified through ongoing use of GeoCollaborate.
