The U.S. Census Bureau is conducting market research via an RFI on enterprise RFID technology, installation, and secure integration with its existing Microsoft Azure-hosted Warehouse Inventory Management System (WIMS). It seeks industry recommendations on RFID hardware/software, facility assessments, deployment, data integration, security, sustainment, and rough cost drivers, but is not seeking proposals or a replacement WIMS platform. Potential performance locations include Charlestown, IN; Suitland, MD; Franconia, VA; Regional Offices, and other Government-designated facilities, with actual scope and sequencing determined by the Government. The effort supports inventory operations for demographic, economic, and decennial programs, including preparations for 2030 Census tests.
