We are seeking a modular electronic amplifier system for measuring neuronal cells with a microelectrode array (MEA) comprising of 60 electrodes. The electronic amplifier system must be modular and include a low-noise 64-channel digital headstage and a USB data acquisition module. The headstage must communicate with the data acquisition module using a standard serial peripheral interface (SPI) protocol. The system must allow the data acquisition module to be replaced with custom-built hardware being developed at NIST. This requirement precludes the use of proprietary and closed systems, which do not allow custom acquisition hardware to be integrated, from being used in the measurements.
