Biosequence Search
The USPTO is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) to identify commercially available, turnkey solutions—with only minor tailoring—for searching biological sequences such as DNA, RNA, proteins, peptides, antibodies, probes, primers, fragments, variants, and fusion constructs, as well as prior art in patent applications. The desired next-generation system should use Super Intelligence-assisted capabilities to improve the efficiency and quality of biological searches during patent examination and should meet the objectives in the attached draft Statement of Objectives. The USPTO may use RFI responses to select a limited number of qualified vendors for an Alternative Competition under PTAG, and vendors that do not respond will not be considered or eligible to compete as prime offerors. Submitting a response does not guarantee eligibility to compete, and this is not a solicitation or request for proposals; participation is voluntary and at the respondent’s own cost and risk with no reimbursement. Telephone requests for a solicitation will not be accepted or acknowledged, and submission instructions are provided in the attached RFI document.
