This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for services in which the government intends to acquire in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories has a requirement of Macherey-Nagel 96 Tissue Core Kits to extract DNA from approximately 20,000 salmon fin clip samples per year in the Genetics Program laboratory at the Auke Bay Laboratories. Kits will include reagents and consumables that are compatible with current Qiagen QiaCube and Corbett high-throughput DNA extraction instruments and downstream application on Perkin-Elmer Janus Automated Liquid Handling System. The kits must yield high-quality DNA in volumes less than or equal to 200ul in 96-well plate format. The kits must not include any plastic consumables or reagents that are not used in the current DNA extraction process. The supplier must have automation team and specialized laboratory to create customized kits if platform parameters change. The supplier must offer direct phone technical support and in-person field application support to meet laboratory needs. Expected delivery date will be within 60 days after order is placed. This particular brand name is essential to the requirement, and market research indicates similar products do not meet or cannot be modified to meet agency needs. Through our market research, the Macherey-Nagel 96 NucleoSpin Tissue Core Kit is the only kit on the market that fulfills our needs for the description of supplies and instrument compatibility requirements. This kit is highly specialized and manufactured solely by Macherey-Nagel. See attached Statement of Work for more information. All interested concerns must submit a quotation and documentation demonstrating the qualifications to provide services as described above within fifteen (15) days of the publication date of this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation has been issued. A firm-fixed order is anticipated to be issued in within 24 hours of closing date and time. Emailed Correspondence or Response to Solicitation should reference solicitation # ABL-20074 , in the Subject line to ensure it is received successfully. Evaluation and resulting award anticipated to within 24 hours of due date. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $150,000.00.
