No solicitation is available at this time. The purpose of this sources sought is to identify organizations with the requisite qualifications to provide the services stated herein. Based on capability statements received in response to this Sources Sought Announcement this acquisition may be solicited as a 100% small business set aside. All small business organizations (SB SDB, WOSB, HUBZone, and VOSB and SDVOSB) are encouraged to respond to this notice. Requirement The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking a contractor to provide construction services to replace 6 AHUs (Air Handing Units) ranging in size from 16,000 to 30,000 CFM and their corresponding return fans, and 3 exhaust fans in the NIST main administrative building (Building 101) located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Additionally, 10 AHUs ranging in size from 1,000 to 27,500 CFM and their corresponding return fans, and 13 exhaust fans are also to be replaced in Building 304. The designed AHUs are buildup units, and weekend work will be required. The specific purpose of this sources sought announcement is to determine if there are any small businesses, within the parameters identified above, that can provide the services identified below. Specific criteria being sought are: The ability to demo and install buildup AHUs, return, and exhaust fans in 1960 Buildings. The ability to perform 24/7 weekend work to replace system equipment without impacting system during normal working hours Monday through Friday. The ability to provide or oversee Maryland Asbestos abatement as needed. Native BACnet Direct Digital Controls as the control and building automation systems. The ability to perform commissioning and TAB on large HVAC systems connected to a building automation system for Energy Managment. The ability to perform duct cleaning and relining. The ability to self-perform at least 30% of the SOW tasks. Requested Information Interested, capable service contractor (parties) shall submit a capability statement in response to this Sources Sought Notice, including, at a minimum, the following: (a) Technical discussion of Contractor ability to perform the type of services described above; (b) Name of Company-include a contact person's name, telephone number, and email address; (c) Company Address; Cage Code, DUNS number; (d) Business Type (please specify as either-Large, Small, Small Disadvantaged, Woman Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, 8(a), Hubzone Small Business), or other (e) Describe project experiences and past performance with similar types of requirements of similar scope and magnitude per the criteria noted in above. Project experience shall include projects greater than $8,000,000 which were completed within the last 60 months. The total number of pages to reply to this source sought shall not exceed 10 pages. NOTE: All vendors need to be registered SAM www.sam.gov. Capabilities Statements will only be accepted electronically via email. Summary Once the results of this market research are obtained and analyzed for NIST's minimum requirements, NIST may solicit a competitive procurement and subsequently award a contract. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY to identify sources that can provide construction services for AHU replacements. The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. NIST has not made a commitment to procure any of the services discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought.
