NOAA intends to award a sole source purchase order to The Nature Conservancy for a custom entanglement response telemetry toolkit to support the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary’s large whale response mission. The toolkit requires proprietary brand-name components that only TNC can integrate to survive the extreme stresses of tracking entangled humpback whales. TNC’s unique assembly methods are necessary to ensure compatibility with the sanctuary’s existing deployment hardware and satellite data systems, and no alternative source can meet the requirement. Delivery is required within 180 days after award. Performance is for the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary.
