COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION 1333ND24QNB640436 Egg Powder Packaging This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6- Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested, and a separate written solicitation document will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued under the authority of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This solicitation is a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2024-05 effective 5/22/2024. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516, with a small business size of 1,000 employees. This acquisition will use Small Business Set-Aside procedures. The National Institute of Standards & Technologies Organic Chemical Metrology Group requires Egg Powder Packaging for a new Standard Reference Material (SRM), in accordance with the attached Statement of Work (SOW). The Chemical Sciences Division is responsible for chemical measurements in a broad range of areas, including the development of reference materials for the determination of the nutritional content and potential contamination of foods and dietary supplements. The packaging of this material is for use as a new SRM. This material will be packaged in polyethylene heat-sealed bags inside heat-sealed Mylar pouches with packets of silica gel. Homogeneity of the packaged material will be confirmed through elemental analysis. The material (whole egg powder) provided by NIST will be blended and packaged in 10 g aliquots in 4 mil polyethylene bags under dry nitrogen or argon. This polyethylene package will then be overpackaged in an aluminized packet with a suitable quantity of silica gel (e.g., two packets of SORB-IT).
