The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Engineering Laboratory’s Building Energy & Environment Division enables cost-effective, energy efficient, grid-integrated buildings that have healthy and comfortable indoor environments and reduced environmental impacts through advances in measurement science and standards development. To fulfill its mission, the Building Energy & Environment Division utilizes Heat Pump Environmental Chambers (hereafter referred to as “Chambers”). The purpose of this requirement is to refurbish and upgrade the sensors and controls of NIST’s pre-existing Chambers at the NIST Gaithersburg, MD campus. The required work shall specifically consist of upgrading the microzone control modules, replacing non-functional sensors, and adding sensors to improve safe unattended operation of the Chambers and Chiller equipment.
