Amendment I - No technically acceptable quotations were received as a result of this solicitation. Therefore, the purpose of this solicitation is to amend the solcitation FROM Small Business Set-Aside TO Full and Open Competition. The solicitation is hereby extended until Monday Septemeber 21, 2020 @ 4PM. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged as a result of this amendment. COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION 1333ND20QNB640458 Optical Coherence Microscope This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6 – Streamlined Procedures for Evaluation and Solicitation for Commercial Items as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested, and a separate written solicitation document will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued under the authority of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This solicitation is a Request for Quotations (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2020-07, Effective August 3, 2020. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516 – Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. The small business size standard is 1,000 employees. This acquisition will be a Total Small Business Set-Aside. NIST requires an Optical Coherence Microscope (OCM) to make non-invasive, label-free, 3D measurements of cell viability in large fields of view within tissue engineered hydrogels. The hydrogel scaffolds make it difficult to image cells to assess their viability when the cells are contained with the hydrogels, which is possible with the OCM.
