The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for the replacement of an existing Medium Voltage Subcycle Transfer Switch (MVSTS) and subsequent annual maintenance via options, at the NIST location in Boulder, Colorado. The work includes, but not limed to, provide a new MVSTS to replace the existing with similar sub-cycle detection and switching capabilities (2-4ms). The contractor will coordinate with the local utility (Xcel Energy) as required and adhere to local utility requirements. In addition to providing a new MVSTS, the contractor will be required to remove and dispose of the existing switch in its entirety, modify the existing pad and feeders to accommodate the new switch, provide a new communication connection to the site building management system (BMS), and provide annual maintenance, via option CLINS, for 3, one-year option periods The anticipated period of performance for construction is 300 days; each option, if exercised will be one year. It is anticipated that a single award will be made as a result of this Request for Proposal. This acquisition is being conducted on an UNRESTRICTED basis. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237130, Power and Communication Line and Related Structures Construction, the size standard is $36.5M.
