In accordance with FAR Part 10, this is a Request for Information (RFI) as a form of Market Research and planning purposes. This RFI is issued as a means of technical discovery and information gathering. This RFI is for planning purposes only and should not be construed as a solicitation, nor should it be construed as an obligation on the part of the Agency to make any purchases of goods or services. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the U.S. Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. This RFI also should not be construed as a means to pre-quality vendors. The Agency may utilize the results of this RFI in drafting a competitive solicitation (RFP) for the wired campus network access switches to be utilized for future operations. Any future contract that may be awarded must comply with The Agency procurement requirements. The United States Census Bureau (USCB) is in need of a campus wired network access switch to replace our current devices that are approaching EOL. The campus switch would need to perform both layer-2 switching and layer-3 routing functionality, as we currently route down to the access-layer in the campus. We are also in the beginning stages of researching software defined access (SDA) / automation of deployment / management of the campus access devices.
