In-Orbit Demonstration and Data Acquisition of a Hyperspectral Microwave Sounder (HyMS)

This notice describes a post-award justification for a sole-source modification with Spire Global, Inc. under NOAA's Commercial Data Program. The contract modification extends the period of performance from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027. Spire will collect, process, and deliver Level 1 science-grade brightness temperature data from its Hyperspectral Microwave Sensor to support evaluation of its impact on global weather prediction models. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to award a sole-source modification to Spire Global Subsidiary, Inc. for a 12-month period of performance extension from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027. The work will be performed in Silver Spring, MD. This action is a follow-on to a competitively awarded R&D mission, as Spire Global is currently the only source with a space-qualified HyMS sensor in orbit. No budget amount is specified. Interested parties may submit a Capability Statement for consideration by the agency.
