NOTICE OF AWARD OF A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT Under the authority of FAR 13.501(a), 41 U.S.C.1901), the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Acquisition and Grants Office (AGO), Western Acquisition Division (WAD), and National Weather Service (NWS) Eastern Region, awarded a sole source Firm-Fixed Price contract South Carolina Educational TV Commission (hereafter referred to as SCETV). The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Acquisition and Grants Office (AGO), Western Acquisition Division (WAD), and National Weather Service (NWS) Eastern Region, have a requirement for the routine (preventative) and non-routine (corrective) maintenance services of NOAA Weather Radio Transmitter Systems for fourteen (14) sites within the state of South Carolina. These services include, but are not limited to: on-site routine maintenance, routine remote monitoring, site outage and restoration as well as miscellaneous services as indicated. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements in accordance with FAR 13.501(a). This determination is based on market research and is solely within the discretion of the Government. SCETV has been the only source capable of meeting the Government’s needs due to the fact that SCETV is the state's public educational broadcasting network, has been broadcasting for 60 years and has been involved with almost every aspect of emergency communication in the State of South Carolina. As evidenced in the sole source justification, there is only one contractor that could deliver the equipment required for this contract without unacceptable delays. Proposals ARE NOT being requested and a written solicitation WILL NOT be issued.
