USS Monitor Artifact Conservation
The Department of Commerce, NOAA, requires professional conservation services for the ongoing active and preventative care of the USS Monitor Collection, a federally owned assemblage of over 5,000 artifacts. The primary place of performance will be at The Mariners' Museum and Park (TMMP) in Newport News, VA, where the artifacts currently reside. The anticipated period of performance includes a base year with four additional one-year option periods. The artifacts are extremely fragile and cannot be moved from TMMP, which has the specialized facilities and equipment needed for their conservation. This is a sole-source procurement intended for TMMP, with all quotations due by July 20, 2026.
