USS Monitor Artifact Conservation

The Department of Commerce, NOAA, requires professional conservation services for the ongoing active and preventive care of the USS Monitor Collection, a federally owned assemblage of over 5,000 artifacts. Performance of services will take place at The Mariners' Museum and Park (TMMP) in Newport News, VA, where the artifacts are currently housed. The anticipated period of performance includes a one-year base period with four additional one-year option periods. The artifacts are extremely fragile and cannot be moved from their current location without risk of irreparable damage. This is a sole-source procurement intended for TMMP, with an anticipated award date of September 2026.
