The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Weather Service intends to award an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for replacement Transition Power Sources (TPS) for its NEXRAD radars. The TPS is a 50KVA uninterruptible power supply that conditions power and ensures clean, uninterrupted operation during grid fluctuations and outages. The contract will cover three line items: Eaton 93M and 93PM UPS units with battery cabinets and maintenance bypass switches, plus a third item for a unit without batteries shipped to a logistics center. Performance locations are across the country at existing NEXRAD radar sites. The formal solicitation is estimated to be posted by the end of June.
